“Startling combinations of colors, textures, stones and shapes are what I do,” says Judy Bliss.  Her flair for asymmetry and edgy, always contemporary designs springs from her unusual training and daring imagination.
Judy Bliss graduated from the University of Oregon with a BFA in sculpture. Semi-abstract nude figures in bronze were her chosen forms.  To make a living, Bliss began selling first Native American jewelry and then works by contemporary designers.  She soon owned three boutiques, featuring art glass, funky women’s clothing and ever edgier jewelry.  When rising rents strangled most small urban boutiques, Bliss turned to graphic design, but then bounced back to jewelry.
Bliss’s sculptural sense produces bold, extravagant, almost three dimensional shapes dripping with semi-precious stones, pearls, sterling silver, vermeil – and sophistication.  She is currently showing her collection in various stores and galleries in the eastern region.
